The frame holds its own line, the breath slows down, and gravity does the rest.

Cold drizzle darkens the Victorian brickwork outside the flat this afternoon, turning the masonry a dense, wet charcoal. In Maputo, rain on coastal aggregate always brought the sharp sting of salt and quick drying heat; London damp sinks in slow, settling into the mortar beds for months.
