Rain has set in across the streets this afternoon, which always changes the friction of smooth paving stones. A slope that seems harmless under dry shoes can become an unannounced hazard the minute moisture settles into worn stone. I’ve stayed at the bench with a scraped pine lid, trimming down a replacement spline until the edge sits flush. It is good to let the fieldwork dry on paper before mapping out tomorrow's crossing points.

A turn with the flat driver set it right, but it reminded me to verify zero against the workbench every evening. Tomorrow’s sector has a series of shallow ramps flanking a post-war underpass. If the transition lip at the bottom exceeds ten millimeters, it defeats the whole slope. Better to measure it twice before logging the continuous line.
