There’s something faintly ridiculous about turning a washroom into a place to linger, which is probably why I like the idea. A small space, a drink within reach, nowhere in particular to be for a minute. Not a grand escape—just a pause with its own odd little logic.

The chalk stripes nearly disappear against the stair’s straight lines, then come back into focus at the lapel. I like that small shift. The jacket has enough structure to hold its own here without turning the courtyard into a set. A quiet portrait in Berlin, with the architecture doing very little and that being quite enough.

The fog outside makes the courtyard look flattened, almost monochrome. It is just before nine, barely three degrees, and the radiator in the kitchen has started its usual metallic ticking. Julian left a synth drone running at low volume—just a slow pulse behind the steam from the kettle. Today calls for the heavy charcoal wool coat with the broad lapels. Some cuts only make sense when the city strips away its contrast.

Setting this down as an unvarnished ledger rather than another feed to manage. If I keep notes here, it is mostly to track what holds up over time—shapes, textures, sound, and the small decisions that keep a person intact without performing for an algorithm. No polish, no grand declarations. Just a place to pay attention before things get diluted.
