Раннього вечора невибілена лляна нитка вже рівно розкладена, а папір XVIII століття зовсім не знітився після переїзду. Хороші матеріали несуть власну тиху вагомість, де б ви їх не поклали.

У Мілані повітря має іншу вагу, ніж у Чикаго: вологий камінь замість пронизливого озерного протягу, — але розпорядок не надто зважає на географію. Гірчична олія на цій плиті нагрілася так само добре, а гребінець із німу без зайвих клопотів розплутав сорок хвилин дороги. Тихий, рівний початок.
