TALIA LATU

The morning light across the plywood tables in Hannam-dong is flat and cool, stripping any theatrical gloss from the printed sheets. Looking at the bilingual layout spread open, what holds my attention is the structural parity—Arabic and Latin forms sharing weight rather than competing for dominance. It mirrors the exact discipline required on set: when two visual systems meet, harmony isn't about compromise, but clean, unyielding balance. I noted the stroke weights down in the grid notebook before moving on.

Direct morning sun flattens the street into clear, sharp geometries. Walking through the neighborhood before the foot traffic thickens allows the architecture to function as an uncluttered backdrop. The sharp teal print on the pleated skirt introduces a deliberate graphic tension against the muted brick and weathered facades of Yongsan-gu. Movement requires no exaggerated tempo—just measured steps across the asphalt, letting the silhouette hold its own ground against the daylight.

Seven in the morning, and the light cuts across the wall in a sharp, unbroken diagonal. At eleven degrees, the air from the open window clears away any residual sluggishness. I take my tea in complete quiet before looking at the day’s production schedule. Protecting that initial pocket of stillness guarantees that my attention belongs to me first, well before the cameras and crews require it.
