Thursday morning, seven o'clock. The controller readout shows four hundred and twenty degrees: steady progress through the intermediate cooling zone. With the room holding near sixteen degrees, the thermal gradient around the chamber is calm and predictable. Another two full days remain before the interior drops to ambient temperature and lets me unbolt the flask. In the meantime, the benches are swept.
