When reviewing match recordings, player memory rarely matches the frame data. People almost always blame a round on an impossible reflex from the opponent or a missed shot at the critical second. Scrub through the playback, though, and the failure invariably started four seconds earlier—a careless step across an unverified angle, or utility wasted without cover. We fixate on mechanical execution because a dropped shot is loud. Poor positioning is quiet; it just quietly guarantees you were dead before the crosshairs met.
